Bakugan Battle Arena - great toy

By Rose Taylor

If you were to ask any kid between 6 and 12 about the Bakugan Battle Arena Mega pack, they could likely be able tell you all about it. Bakugan toys have captured the attention of children worldwide. Bakugan was released first in Japan, and purchased rapidly by players both young and old.

It was promoted in Canada next, and is now available in the United States. If you were to do a search on the internet, you would find that leagues are forming in preparation for tournaments. The trading of the various figures is becoming popular, even among young adults.

For the uninitiated, this Arena is the latest accessory in the Bakugan Battle Brawlers line of toys. These are based on the extremely popular Japanese animated series "Bakugan Battle Brawlers." Japanese anime for children has long been popular, and this series was already a hit show in Japan and Canada before it made its American debut.

The game is very easy to learn, so even the younger children in the family can play with older kids. Some of the playing pieces are too small for young children, about the size of a large marble. The playing of the game uses cards and figures.

The Bakugan Battle Arena is an important part of the staging for this adventure and role playing game. The players of this game are going to decide the fate of the galaxy, and they do this by pitting a variety of warriors, known as Bakugan, against each other for points. Players assume the roles of characters in the series, and many will choose to play Dan, the heroic 12 year old. Points are scored by rolling or launching their marble-shaped Bakugan onto magnetic cards.

If these land on the cards, the spring-loaded marbles burst open and transform instantly into battling warriors. Players must rely on strategy to place their cards in the arena in the best positions to give them an advantage. The card placement affects the outcome of each Bakugan battle. The players then must use their shooting skills to launch their Bakugan warriors into the brawl and begin the action. Can anyone say Mighty Marble Madness? Up to 4 players can stage battles in the Bakugan Battle Arena at any one time, which allows for a lot of ongoing action. The Battle Arena has a sturdy, black plastic base with red walls, which keep the mighty Bakugan warriors spinning into action instead of getting lost in battle.

For kids who are already Bakugan devotees, the Bakugan Battle Arena is a "must have", and it is very easy to fit together. This accessory adds an extra dimension to the battles. Both the Bakugan Battle Arena and Bakugan Battle Brawlers made their debut at the American International Toy Fair in New York City and were immediately placed on the list of hottest 2008 toys.
